Unsolicited Communications

It has been brought to our attention that some of our shareholders are receiving telephone calls from an organisation purporting to wish to buy their shares in the Scottish.

We would urge all investors to exercise caution when dealing with any unsolicited telephone call.

We would like to advise you that we have no connection whatsoever with this and have not sanctioned these calls. We do not undertake cold calling, nor would we allow other organisations to use our name in their promotional activities.

As a UK listed company, SIT’s share register is publicly available and we assume that this organisation has obtained a copy by legitimate means. However, any reference made to The Scottish Investment Trust, or any suggestion that we have arranged these calls or are recommending any service or product, is incorrect.

We are also aware of a phishing scam circulating regarding opening an account with The Scottish Investment Trust which has supporting identification documentation that is entirely fake. We do not provide accounts and would never send out any unsolicited documentation requesting that you make a deposit to open an account or anything similar. If you receive documentation that claims to be from us that you were not expecting and you are suspicious of its contents, please feel free to contact us by email at info@thescottish.co.uk

Please remember, if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is!

Unfortunately, these types of scams are not uncommon and the FCA website has a page outlining this.

The FCA page also outlines ways of reporting the attempted scam to them, if you wish to do so.

We remind you to treat any such calls with caution.
